Familiar Strangers

Our ending made no sound. We just became familiar strangers sitting together but worlds apart, and the silence spoke louder than words....

I lay in my bed,
The night was too quiet, Even my memories sounded loud,
So I went down memory lane.
To the times when all was well and didn’t feel forced.
When we shared smiles and laughter,
And the silences between us were not an unending abyss.
Now your absence echoes in the hours meant for rest.
The dark stretching my memories until they feel unreal,
Seeing your face no longer floods my heart with warmth,
We just phased out.
The moment I stopped saving things to tell you,
When your name no longer popped up when I have good news.
When you became another apparition in the crowd.
Our ending made no sound.
We just became familiar strangers sitting together but worlds apart,
And the silence spoke louder than words.

Wow! This is soft grief and the peak of broken relationship.

At stage “When your name no longer popped up when I have good news” that right there is two hearts has grown so cold .
