This Jigsaw Puzzle

i’m a potter–
whose clay yearns for
incessant twists and turns
that could transform sand castles
into skyscrapers.

so i shed old skins of impatience,
indiscipline as a snake discards
its tired skin,
& trim wild friendships… like a gardener
prunes overgrowth of floras.

my palms bear calluses engraved
by countless poems being paddled
in canoe of rejected works…
my heart enlarges from
wholesome boos on stage,
while my shy stomach bubbles like sea waves.

what journey defers arrival?
is this a time loop
i can’t leap out of?
in this jigsaw puzzle,
maybe i’ve got the cow
grazing on top of the tree.

with uncertainty, still i write. ’cause
setbacks are blessings-in-disguise.
I tell my ribcage to expand farther,
’cause this heart of mine
is about to grow even bigger.

i await success to strip
my garbages & place
upon my calloused palms,
victory on a gold platter.
