We keep this place for the voices that rarely get a turn: the poet writing between shifts, the storyteller nobody follows yet, the speaker who has never had a stage.
Out there, the loudest voice usually wins, or the biggest following, or the deepest pocket. In here, we listen for something else: the line that stays with you, the story told honestly, the argument that's been earned. We read every piece ourselves, and the work is all we judge.
We began with the page, with poetry and prose. Now we're making room for spoken word, for debate, and for whatever comes next, because it all starts the same way: with someone who has something to say, and a place willing to hold it.

What We Hope For
That good work finds the people it was written for, whoever wrote it and however few people know their name. That the quiet ones get heard, and what's remembered is the work.
What We Do
We make room. We publish writers who haven't been published, run fair competitions with real prizes, and give speakers a stage, so a voice that deserves to be heard has somewhere to be heard.
How We Judge
Every competition here is a test of skill, never a game of chance. Most are judged by our editors and judges on the craft alone. A few also open to a public vote, and we always say so before you enter. Nobody wins here by luck.
